Welcome to the Homeschool Plus website. This site will give you information about our center in Hampton Roads, Virginia. T he purpose of Homeschool Plus is to encourage you in your commitment to provide the best possible Christian education for your children through homeschooling. We try to listen to the needs expressed by homeschoolers and offer a wide variety of activities and services to help meet those needs. The Ingleside classes generally meet once a week and are designed to be an exciting supplement to your own curriculum. Colonial Williamsburg Homeschool weeks!
Sept.6-19th.$5 = 1day / $8 = 2 consecutive days / $11 = 5 consecutive days. Prices are for ages 5 to adult. 4yrs & under are free to enter. Does not say on the web site, but does include going into all buildings in the Historic Area during the day hrs. and allows the student to participate in all homeschool activities.

HSP MUSIC NEWS! Joining HSP staff teaching classical guitar on Thursdays is Chris Meyers. Mr. Meyers has a Bachelor degree in Music Education from O.D.U. His primary instrument was Classical Guitar and he studied under Dr. Michael Murphy. His secondary instrument was percussion. He has over 5 years teaching experience and over 15 years playing experience. He has been a member of Spring Branch Community Church for 7 years where he leads worship for the middle school and high school programs. Chris is a friend of Robb Esperat, who is not able to return to HSP due to taking a full time church ministry position. We want to wish Robb and Chris all of God's best in their new positions. Thank you Mr. Esperat! Welcome Mr. Meyers!

Another Guitar Teacher has been added - Have you been wanting to take guitar lessons but couldn't get the schedule to work? HSP is about to add another new teacher who has classical training and experience in praise and worship music. Doug Purcell has Bachelor degrees in Music Composition and Music Education from ODU and his major instrument was guitar. He attends Suburban Christian Church on Providence Rd. in Virginia Beach, and plays guitar in the orchestra there. Doug will be available for a half day, Tuesday or Thursday, depending on what you tell us you need! HIGH SCHOOL WRITING - Announcing Deb Hill's High School Writing is moving to hursdays at 1:00! This class is for 10th-12th graders. If you have a high school student who needs help with writing, sign up ASAP! Class size is limited. (Gayle Himmelwright's High School Writing at Thursday at 10:00 still has a few openings too.).

PRIVATE FLUTE LESSONS - Trish Martin will offer private 30-minute flute lessons to beginners and intermediate students Tuesdays between 9 and 11 a.m.

DRIVERS ED CLASS - begins September 19 and meets on Fridays from 9am-11am for one semester. For those not enrolled in HSP, there is a $10 registration fee. We do not yet know what the tuition will be in the fall. That is determined by Old Dominion Driving School. Tuition this year was $375.

BOXTOPS!! -HSP is once again collecting boxtops as a fundraiser. Please start saving them and bring them to the HSP office. Our goal this year was $500. We made $639! Thanks to all that made this fundraiser a real success! Keep clipping!!! See boxtops for details. You can even shop online and accumulate boxtops. OPEN ENROLLMENT - Registrations are also received by mail year round and on Tuesday or Thursday class days between 9:00 and 3:00. However, after August 26, you must first contact the teachers for the classes in which you are interested and see if there is still space available. Teacher phone numbers are available here.
